Anyone tried making a mug in one yet?
we have a double and a single ninja air fryer but I don’t have any of the wraps to test if it would work.

So just wondering if any has actually tried it?

You could give it a try without a wrap.

Put something around a mug and then tape it on there covering the entire print with tape. I would suggest something relative small and in the middle of the mug to save tape etc.

You will get something on your mug to give you a good idea if it will work or not.

I know someone who used a small air fryer (not a Ninja) that only took a single mug and had great results with it. I still have one of her mugs at home that was printed maybe 5 years ago and the print is excellent.

The only fryer I have used myself is the glass-walled halogen kind but again, results were excellent. As SG has posted above, give it a go without the wraps, it should work ok.

I’ll give it a whirl just for testing purposes of course.
I like my trusty presses personally but if I can get say 6-8 mugs done in 4 mins then it’s a winner lol.

Might be of interest as well although I have read that it needs to be on for a good 10-15 minutes to get to right temp before putting mugs in and won't do a top to bottom print which needs a lot of pressure of course. Lots of videos going back a few years on air fryers but obviously more for one off mugs maybe rather than a run of 500.

We've used airfryers in the past before moving onto a larger oven. We managed 4 mugs at a time. Some airfryers work better than others in terms of circulating the air well enough to get an even temp top to bottom. I think we used the larger Tower Airfryers. The issue for us was the fans didn't last long before needing to be replaced. I guess they were not designed to be used for 4+ hours a day 5 days a week!

I made some great mugs in an air fryer some years ago. The air fryer I used to use could only hold 1 mug though. If you can find one that can hold several mugs that gets good results I’d recommend that over using a mug press

I didn’t used to have to preheat my air fryer and it used to take around 6 minutes from what I remember. I got an even result every time. I guess it depends on the air fryer.
