Hi All

What smash proof boxes are people using these days? I have used the LF ones and out of 20 odd mugs 3 arrived smashed.

Personally I would like to use the polystyrene box, however this does not fit an 11oz mug :-(

Needing something for worldwide distribution

Many thanks

We use Subli Blanks, never had an issue yet.

I always used Custompac Polystyrene Mug Mailers - https://www.custompac.co.uk/polystyrene ... search=mug

They do 2 sizes -

  • Small (for 10oz Mugs)
  • Large (for 11oz Mugs)
I mainly used the Large and there was ample room to wrap the mug in a layer of bubble wrap, for added protection, before placing in the mailer. I never did the quantity of mugs you do but I only ever had one breakage reported.

Incidentally, I used the same mailers for 12oz two-tone mugs with spoons and managed to fit both the bubble-wrapped mug and bubble-wrapped spoon in the mailer.

Cardboard outers are also available if you need them.

They look exactly the same as the ones I have and have 4 from 30 odd sales

Mdp sell one for 10oz and another for 11oz mugs.

I use the polystyrene mailers, and now and then the smashproof boxes from mdp but bubble wrap the box too.
Royal Mail aren’t as bad as evri so boxes are ok but evri it’s a poly mailer every time.

Is that the "mug crates" boxes? If so I found them better than other boxes and their mugs fitted. However they were not as good as polyboxes. So I ended up back at polyboxes for 11oz mugs.

I did have success with this sort of thing

www.kitepackaging.co.uk/scp/air-bags-and-cushions/air-shock-for-ceramics/?sfpartno=AS-MUG-SET&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_oeuyszT-gIVQuDtCh3hKQcXEAQYASABEgIFLvD_BwE

Great on saving space. I got fed up inflating them!
