Just had an email from Sumup about their new pricing policy.
If you want to continue with free invoicing then the price has risen from 1.69% to 2.5%!
If you sign up to invoicing 'pro' then you pay £8 + vat per month but get a transaction fee of 1.25%.

Most of my customers are b2b and prefer to pay by BACS transfer so it is going to be borderline for me.

I will be happy to pay £8+vat. I found their invoicing system great and simple.

Most years I would agree with you, but I think this year every penny saved counts.

I use it out of convenience/laziness for a lot of my invoicing, but most of the business, school and public sector account customers prefer to pay by bacs rather than use the pay button (thankfully - the sums involved would end up in too much interest).
Of the customers that pay online via the sumup invoice, most are small low value invoices and only amount to a few hundred a month - way less than the £700/month it would need to cover the monthly cost.

As long as the transaction fee for face to face transactions stays the same I probably won't bother. If the £8 charge gave 1.25% fees on in store transactions then it would be to my advantage to sign up, but from what I am reading they are staying at 1.69%.

I wonder why I didn't get this email.
Fair play if you only get £700 via invoices. it wouldn't benefit you like you say.
Last month I had around £6K via invoices so it will make sense for me to sign up.

Maybe it is just a way of earning more out of small users like myself? They would lose a lot of income if they cut your interest rate to 1.25%.
