Re: Sublimation costings per sheet.

Okay, I have checked the typical yield on the official Epson site with regards to the ET-2810. I brought the set of inks from Ink Experts who typically carry the Sublinova range of inks and I think the standard (Hybrid?) sublimation paper that they sell. I was wondering if anyone had a rough average of yields for the black and colours (given that you typically print with best quality settings for sublimation)? Although I have said I am not ready for anything as far as retail as I am still training, I have been asked to do some costing per printed page by my boss where I volunteer.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ink use depends a lot on coverage and type of image. A high res photo will obviously use a lot more ink than a simple logo with lots of white space.
Even so ink costs are next to nothing per A4 sheet - way less than the price of paper - and so small as to not trouble your profit margin. Just add a small mark up to the cost price of the paper.
If you allow a nominal 5p ink per sheet you are going to be well on the right side. In reality it is less than that.

Okay I will say 5 pence per A4 sheet, that was about my thinking too.
Thankyou.

Weigh ink bottles when full
Weight ink bottles empty
You now know how much the ink weighs ... g/ml
Keep a count of how many A4 sheet you print
When your first ink runs out/needs refilling, re- weigh your ink bottles - you now know precisely how much ink you've used over x amount of a4 pages, and use that for your average costing per page.

Thankyou, I will do that in future.
