I recently had my adkins fixed after a heat fault. With return carriage, loan machine and repairs the cost was around £450. A few weeks later having used once a week the display went black and the press stopped heating up. Adkins say it sounds like we need a new controller and as this wasn't part of the initial repair will cost. So again carriage and loan of another press will cost around £250.

The press was purchased second hand in 2017.its one of the older presses and we use it for both clothing and hard substrates. At this point I'm thinking to buy a hotronix as would really like to be able to measure pressure precisely instead of guessing each time.

But we're looking at £2.5k.

Could do with some advice here as we use white toner so need a very good heat press.

The cheaper Hotronix 'Sprint' press also has presure display at 'only' £1600 incl vat.

I would be inclined to get a Pressmech and keep giuesing the presure. About £1k+ vat. For £2.5k+ you could get a Pressmech Pneumatic press and get the presure spot on everytime.

PressMechs are also easy to take apart and replace parts when they fail - Dickie from PressMech has talked me through replacing bits over the phone as I've done it (the first time round) ... more recently, I just palleted them to him, and repair/servicing costs were good - can't remember exactly, but cheaper than you've posted above.

There is the Adkins beta pneumatic press as well as Pressmech's at the same price point. I have shoulder pain but we've only started up so not got many orders, but I also like to buy the best if I can. Sorry just thinking out loud! The pneumatic sounds appealing!
