I’m sublimating a hoodie that requires thread on to the lower platen for best results. The issue I am having is the that rubber material is to grippy and thus it a pain to thread the hoodie. Does anyone know of a material that has:

  • A decent amount of compression and bendability to it
  • Whilst also being able to with stand 200 degrees C
  • And sooth with zero tack so the hoodie will glide on
I have tried covering the rubber mat I already have with Teflon and heat resistant tape but the constant putting on and taking off cases issues this I would like for find something that I don’t need to think about.

Teflon sheets or Teflon pillows are your friend here.

Target transfers sell covers for both the bottom and top platens. I have a lower cover on one of my heat presses and that really helps with this sort of thing.
