Has anyone used or own a badge machine, are they worth having, and are they any good

I've just bought one to do button badges & I'm quite impressed at the quality of the machine etc.

I just use my embroidery machine. Learnt how to do the Madeira AFS digitizing and went from there, I found this a lot easier than using pre done badges. And I didn't need to spend £250 plus for the frame, or £1000 for an attachment.

Sorry should have been more clearer, I was asking about as Ian said button badges, sorry if I have caused some confusion

I bought a hobby badge maker some years ago. It was alright for what it was - producing hobby badges - but I wouldn't have said that the end product was sellable.

I'd be interested in what machines you're looking at and what the end product is like (if your discussion doesn't end up hidden in PMs).

I'm the one who should be saying ooops !

Borrowed a badge maker from a friend a few years ago, never got round to using it so gave it him back. He said he was giving it to the local High School so they could possibly make some funds. It was a very hefty piece of kit, not one of the table top type.

I have got a new contract for Service personal, that have come back with injuries, it will roughly consits of dressing gowns, flip flops, mugs, and much more, they are to be personized so the badge will be of a saying thats funny to that unit, its part of a charity run by the Royal Marines. We are sharing that contract with 3 other suppliers, the profit is small but it's somthing that I belive in,The sort of humour that is funny to a service person is not funny else where. bit like nurses jokes. I have not look at any machines yet. Only thing I know that there not alot of demand from the public but to where I'm snding them they will love it

Excellent idea Jenny - as an ex serviceman I am also very passionate about 'helping our heroes'.
