I am not one for working for hard for pennies, so I tend to sit at the higher end of my markets. I put my prices up on Etsy to really put me at the top end. Some interesting figures compared to last year for the last 30 days.

Visits down 69%
Orders up 5%
Conversion rate up 236%
Revenue up 20%

Maybe I should put them up some more.

I sit quite a bit above that. Push a few designs up if they still sell set them higher. Keep going until you find your "happy figure". That's all I did.

Price has always been a good tool for targeting your customers and weeding out the needy and the greedy.

Totally agree, never underprice when you can make more profit. I've put my products on ridiculous margin from day 1. Sales are flowing, hardly any returns and weirdos. I did a test and put them on £7.00 instead of normal £9.00-£11.00 in December, sales did not increase but I had more returns and 'I've not received' complaints. Lower price does seem to attract needy and greedy and those that want everything free in life.

What made our Etsy sales rocket, was when they wanted free USA shipping. So we repriced for that, which took abit of working out, but not needing to give 20% VAT to HMRC helped with not needing Jack up prices much more than our usual UK prices. Mainly we see Etsy as our USA sales platform, so we use American spellings, and are priced in USD.

Interesting, about US sales. I found my sales were 99% UK. However I didn't price in $'s. I shall investigate. I have a spare shop on Etsy which I could easily kick back into action as a "US" store. I shall investigate the cost of shipping again.

Have you found this with any other platform? Also how much of an increase would your prices be up and would this impact people who have bought from you before?
