Just before I get Ink Experts to create one, has anyone had a profile made for the SG500 yet? The default profile is absolutely terrible but thankfully in the latest firmware update you can specify your own profile.

Hey olly, out of interest, did you ever get a profile made by Ink Experts?

The last 2021 firmware is a joke (unless one has come out in 2022?) - you can specify a profile BUT it dithers colours still. Yes we had Ink Experts try to make one but you cannot use Adobe utility to print out solid colours as the printer will dither certain colours rather than make it solid. Talked with Sawgrass Support, talked with Ink Experts and talked with Xpres. Conclusion - rubbish printer. That and the ink cost makes it sadly a waste of space.

Frustrating as my SG3110 has been a sterling workhorse. How could they take something that worked so well and make it work so bad...

See if you can get a SG400 second hand although be careful as lots are on the their last legs. We rely on our bank of SG400s working for mug print outs as we have not found any other printer that matches colours correctly - and been through all the desktop printers available.

I’ve just tried printing a colour chart from Adobe utility and can see exactly what you mean. Do you use sawgrass inks with your sg400’s or a third party ink?

Hey,
Just wondering if you had any luck with an ICC for the SG500? I am in the same position at the moment
