Printing to Fabric

Really new to this but I've just about cracked mugs, bottles and phone cases for getting the right quality (famous last words), but I'm having a nightmare pressing to fabrics. I've tried t-shirts, cushion covers and tote bags and all of them are either coming out completely faded or I'm getting patches of fadeness (?). I've tried different paper (fabric and versa), I've tried different ICC profiles and I've tried different temps and times but just can't seem to get it close to right. I know it would be difficult for anyone to diagnose what I'm doing wrong remotely like this, but just thought I'd throw it out there on here and hopefully get some feedback of things to try that I might be missing.

Also, do you always print to matte quality when printing to fabrics? Couldn't seem to find an answer to that on Google.

Are you sure you're printing to 100% polyester fabric for starters?
Have you enough pressure
Start with right pressure, at 180 degrees C, and 60 seconds.

Paper & ICC profiles shouldn't make as much difference as these things

The thing that felt like it was the deciding factor to me was pressure. I used a really hard pressure (pretty much using all my weight to close the press). Don't know if that will work for you as it could be a number of different things.

Usually, fabric doesn't need all that pressure. You could end with paper edge marks.
