Hi Folks, I have looked back at many of the previous posts.. but it does overwhelm me slightly.
Can I ask on my concerns please?...
Purchased a press from MDP, fine ( no receipt sent yet mind??) and progressed with my SG400 & S Race paper..
Durham mugs, fine..quite happy, However.. Sparta mugs, which are far far more favoured by myself, in that I'd prefer to have & use Sparta mugs only..but, when printing, they fade out, mostly, at the top or centre upwards.. I have tried a few variations on timing etc but appreciate they may well be a slightly smaller diameter etc plus that 'lip'
Do I put the whole mug, covering the lip within the heat blanket on the press, is there a specific heat blanket I should be using?
I'll attempt to put up some pictures here.. you'll see the difference..and I would really, genuinely appreciate someone telling me off for being daft, or even a constructive kick up the bum if it's needed.. (if I can, non- Techno Titch) put pictures on....
Thank You all,

You will have problems printing the way you are. You will find that using an insert to wrap around the mug below the lip will resolve the issue. I used an heat resistant silicone rubber sheet, if I remember rightly it was 3mm thick. You'll then need to adjust your temperature and timing.

Ah the Sparta mugs.

Oh how the nightmares went on....
Nice mugs but like janners suggests you will need a spacer between mug and blanket as the lip will stop the contact to the rest of the mug.

I only pressed 10mm from the lip down.
and I used the standard 10oz blanket.

Never tried these mugs, but would an oven and thermo-shrink wraps not be a better solution than using a press?

Thanks all, comments duly noted, will I get these 'inserts ' from teh likes of MDP for example?

Again, I appreciate the input here..

Hi Titch
You just need a small sheet and cut it to suit your needs, eBay etc is your friend there.

MDP usually put the invoice in with the delivery note attached to the front of the consignment. If you have mised it you can download from their website.
