Hi everyone,

My Ricoh 3110 started ghosting now and again on prints a while ago and has gradually got worse. It’s just taken six attempts to get one page without ghosting. I can’t work out what it is because it doesn’t do it every time and not always in the same place. Sometimes it’s ghosting and sometimes a thick band that looks textured. I’ve uploaded a couple of photos because I can’t explain it very well.
Ricoh 3110, trupix paper and sawgrass ink.
I can usually tell when it’s going to happen because the printer pauses and makes a ticking or high pitched noise
Thanks in advance

I don’t know about Ricoh printers but is there a print head alignment check you can print and test?

I’ll have another look. Thank you. It’s so strange because it doesn’t do it every time

I’ve checked every setting and tried everything I can think of and this is still happening. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I’ve got a second Ricoh but it hasn’t been used for about 4 years so I think it will need flushing but I’m not sure how to do it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I doubt whether it's a printhead alignment problem as you say that some prints turn out ok.

It may be an intermittent fault in the circuit that controls the printhead. Do you have any other cables near your printer usb cable that may be causing interference, or are you using wifi (available in a 3110DNw machine)?
