I currently print semi transparant filk on my Epson 1500 printer. Had hoped to do the same on my L805 but for some reason it doesn't want to take the film through, A5 or A4 sheerts.

Not sure why this printer won't take it when the A3 printer will, anyone any ideas?

There used to be OHP film that was sold with a leading white strip for the printer to recognise. I think it was made to combat the issue of transparent substrates not being recognised by printers.

You could try placing a piece of white paper behind the film to see if that works or perhaps even "bodge" a white strip to see if that will solve it.

Just trying this again, sheet behind didn't work. It is feeding the film in but then comes up with a paper jam warning Remove any jammed paper or the CD/DVD tray and press the Paper button on the product." I assume this just means it can't recognise it, I thought it might be too thick so changed settings to thick paper but no help.

Not sure why this doesn't happen on the 1500 as well.

Just changed to plain paper and it took it through fine. Needs to be on matte to get the right quality though lol.

Little Epson 2650 printer takes it through as well no problem so it's just something unique to the 805 :-(

Looks like your only option is to buy more kit... :-)

There is a "milky" OHP film specifically designed for ink jets as well.

Not sure if it will suitable for your needs though.

Unfortunately not, this is a specific film we use

I have, I bought the 805 lol. Happy with the 1500 but they're getting few and far between so prices are getting silly again, £400 used.

Ok, this is strange. The 805 prints onto A5 clear film but not A4!

That is odd.

I would drop a message to Alex or Christian at Ink Experts asking them if they know why. Surely the must be a reason and those guys might know.

You could ask Ken as he claims to be an Epson engineer doesn’t he?
