Can you provide an image showing a mug with the transfer in place before pressing?

Doesn't look like escape imo. Is this ink visible before printing?

It looks like direct transfer as to definitive to be gas etc. Likely it was on the paper and on the cut edge but you should be able to see something that visible.

I will take a picture of this tomorrow when I am back in the unit.

No there was nothing on the mug or transfer paper prior to pressing

Was nothing on paper or mug prior to pressing, I will take images of other mugs where it has happened the same but on another part of the mug, i will also dig out the used transfer paper for this particular mug. there was nothing on it to explain this.

Thanks all for taking the time to try and help me with this, its appreciated as I am wasting so many mugs :(

Thanks
Mark

That would be my next thought. If not on the paper then must be on heat element.
