I've quickly called into work and don't have time to sit down and look at this just yet. I've got a big pile letters from Royal Mail and several PDFs to read, but is a 500g mug posted to the USA about to cost £14.88 and an RM48 £4.74?
They never give details stating IE1 code will cost you x amount, you need to rely on your OBA account to give an actual cost.

I stopped using my oba last year.
bagging and tagging became such a time waster it was easier to drop it to the post office and let them sort it.
And the difference in price was negligible to the time it was taking to sort it and bag it and do the paperwork every day.
Now letters are just dropped into the post box at the end of my road 20 meters away.
All parcels go via courier now anyway as rm prices were just too high.
I still get emails and letters from Royal Mail but bin them.
Im not sure how they can justify the price increases but they seem to be getting greedy.

I am about to close my OBA account, I know there are problems at the moment, but they have lost 11 signed for items in the past 2 months, and 22 non signed items, of course the money I will get back for the 11 signed ones, will not even cover costs as you do not get the postage back. The 22 non signed items, I will get nothing back for. I cannot sustain this level of loss, and also the grief it gives me with customers.

Are you posting letter type items or parcels?

Yesterday we posted a small 1,8 Klg carton to the USA. Normally it costs 16,95€. Yesterday it will only go by premium mail and costs a whopping 53,54€. DHL, But I believe the other carriers are the same.

If I ship anything outside of uk over a letter I use parcel2go my folks live in Portugal so I’m always sending 20-30kg packages over and it’s only £28 by ups. How on earth can. It be that cheap?

Small 'through the letter box' letters can be easily misdelivered. I don't have any problems with parcels using RM48. The online delivery confirmation is great.
