Hi there,

I've been having problems with the SG400 recently where occasionally my prints have strange banding on them. You can hear the print head sometimes stalling/stuttering when its going. I've usually got it set to advance photo in Powerdriver using Photoshop and there doesn't seem to be any blockages with the head.

I've cleaned the encoder strip and the wheel and it still has problems. Also checked the head alignment which seems fine, so I think the printer is on it's way out as it's about 3-4 years old and has done thousands of prints. I've always used Sublijet-HD inks and the marks appear on various types of paper and film.

Here's the banding:

Without the banding:

Any idea what could be causing it?

Many thanks!

I think this is a common issue with these printers eBay always seems to be full of them with this issue.
