Hi

i wondered what peoples views were regarding these Vacuum Press. I would like to press a
number of small ceramic items for a charity show and wondered if using this idea
would work better.

Hello,

Have you got any examples/links to certain vacuum models? Then it will be easier to give an opinion.

I love mine, but only really use it for slates.

If I was wanting to do ceramics (or drinkware), I use my oven. You can use the ST3042 and I am sure it would work perfectly though. My only advice would be to buy new as these machines can be really unstable as they are quite badly made. I can't remember how many times I have rebuilt mine before I was happy with everything, purchasing new you have the back up should something go wrong.

I have purchased the model 3042, I have been looking through the forum for tips and advice, I saw some talk about films, what
are these used for? I am thinking about doing plates, does anyone have any experience and which supplier would be best. I
have sublimated 4inch ceramic hearts, I am very pleased with the results so far.
