I recently bought a epson Eco tank 14000, for dye sublimation.

I've also recently purchased a roland GS-24 vinyl cutter.

It seems that the problem started after installing the cutters software, but not 100% sure as I didnt get much use from the printer before hand.

I have a weird print issue when printing, it sometimes prints about 5 lines of info before doing the main print, usually the first page, which in turn throws my whole print off and ruining the print.

I wonder if anyone has had this issue, or know what it is or how to rectify it?

I am going to email Epsom and roland about it to see if they know, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Hi. All of those PJL entries are Printer Job Language commands that that are part of the file header and shouldn't be printed out. Maybe the printer driver is corrupted. Try removing and re-installing it, or maybe try downloading the latest driver for your printer.

Thanks webtrekker. That's what I was thinking. I'm waiting on a reply from epson, thought I'd ask here too see if I got a quicker reply about it. I'll set about trying to driver then reinstalling see if that all works.

As Webtrekker said, the information is essentially print job language (date the printer reads as the print job) seen this happen on a couple ET14000 as well as L805 printers. They can occasionally get driver issues when other printers have been previously installed.

I usually only find these issues when the customer has installed without using the driver i.e. simply plugged in the USB / power leads and turned on the printer.

Try uninstalling / removing the ET14000 device from the computer, reinstall using the driver disc or downloaded driver from the Epson website. Part way through the install the driver asks for the printer to be connected and turned on, do so at this point and it should solve the issue.

I still have this problem, even after uninstalling etc.

I shall beed to get back in touch with epson, followed hat they recommended also but still have the same issue. Really doing my head in.

Its possible its the vinyl cutter i installed (roland GS24). So once i have the time I'm going to re-install that also.

See what happens.
