Hi everyone,

Yes I am a new member looking to start a small business to supplement funds for a great charity cause. I've never done anything like this before so starting from scratch. I bought a printer from inkexperts and they suggested me joining here to find out how to start. Also got the 8in1 heat press ready to go!:cool:

Hi TJ

Thank you for the warm welcome. its great to find a friendly bunch. that's the way I would rather be.

I'm thinking about printing T-shirts and Hoodies to start with. so far I have managed to print off a couple of pictures, but wording I have a problem with, such it needs to be back to front. I really am starting from basic! I've down loaded Gimp, and I'm just starting to learn how to use it.

So you will be sublimating T-shirt’s and hoodies I assume?
this limits your use of colours to light colours or white so the colours show up after you have pressed them.

For tshirts and hoodies I mainly use heat transfer vinyl s this doesn’t limit the colour choices but it does limit the design. but using vinyl you would need a cutter for that.

when you print under printer settings choose advanced and you can click mirror print this will reverse your print out so when you press it will be the correct way.

i hope that helps and have a browse through the forums and to mirror Justin’s comment you get a nice discount with suppliers if you are a premium member, it’s only £10 a year ;)
