Hi Everyone - This one is for existing Pressmech owners...

I am new to this game and I have bought a Pressmech. I understand the basic principle of adjusting the pressure on it by turning the big wheel to raise or lower the heat head but how do I assess and judge what is high, medium or low pressure when I apply the pressure handle?

Help gratefully received

Many thanks
Howard

It's an experience thing
I tend to over tighten, and then slacken off with one hand whilst lowering the platen with the other, and use the hand/arm that is lowering to feel how much force I'm needing to use to get it all the way down. (This is also the technique I show new staff) Due to the use marks on the main vertical post, I can now judge where it needs to be for different products.

Well done on buying a great press though!

If it closes easily but firmly with one hand then that is light pressure. If you are on the verge of needing two hands then that is heavy pressure.
Medium is somewhere in the middle:biggrin:. Sounds vague I know.

If you need to swing off the handle to get it closed then that is too much pressure....

+1 on the congrats for buying a great press.

For all items on my Pressmechs I use two fingers on the handle to close for sublimation and I don't struggle. I don't do vinyl so no idea there. With sublimation I find light pressure is all I ever require.

Great presses. I have a bag press and an A2. I don't use the A2 press as I don't do the big aluminium panels anymore. I keep meaning to sell it, then think hmmmm, nah I'll keep it.
