Up until last year we were importing plastic blister packs in bulk. We switched to a UK supplier but they're looking to discontinue the sizes we need.
We can get tooling made here in the UK as we did in China but it's very expensive and initial minimum order is high. Whilst the plastic is 100% recyclable I would also like to look at alternatives, cardboard etc.
We mainly sell phone cases to give an idea on size. Just looking for other possible suppliers/ideas on replacement packaging.
I'm considering attending the Packaging show in Feb at the NEC, has anyone been to this before?

When I looked at phone case bulk options I thought of a cardboard flat pack (the sort you use for books) with a foam or bubble liner. Something that fits all. The following sort of thing bespoke made....

Sorry Simon, I should have said, this is retail packaging not shipping packaging.
We put inlay cards in the back of the packs right now but this could be printed onto the rear of a box. Loads op options in Chain as always but not so many in the UK, would prefer to source here if possible. Free samples from China....if you pay £20-£40 for shipping!

This isn't close to what you are needing, but the idea is there....a cardboard window design to remove the nasty plastic, which customers look down upon on these days.

Yes this is what I've seen and they are available in the sizes I need. I may have to bite the bullet and pay for a load of samples, would still prefer to get in the UK.

I was looking for some cheap simple gift boxes and found these guys who make boxes. I'm sure that my samples were free. And your hard earned Scottish pounds won't need to leave Scotland either!

We once had a custom job and got some card die cut to shape, a plastic shell then housed the case. This works really well but the price for the die cut card was incredibly high. May be worth revisiting this again though.
The shells are still plastic but less than half the content of the full plastic cases, still sourced outside UK though.

Are these any good Justin? I don't know what you are prepared to pay but these work out at 25.6p each incl. VAT ...

We've been using this company but have to source something else or take the plunge and setup tooling etc.
