Hey

for those of you that do keep a stock of clothing items, how do you store them?!

i have various colours, different sizes, brands, types (tees, polos, hoodies, etc), and trying to store them in a sensible manner is frustrating!!

any hints and tips? photos?

much appreciated!!

the transparant boxes are good as you can see what colours are inside.
We put types by size - and can see colour through the box.
we try to limit brands... as much as we can...

I use something similar to Logobear, the only difference is that I use grey rectangular boxes made with an open honeycomb effect on the side so I can see the t-shirts. The boxes stack , which is a great advantage to the transparent ones you can buy in IKEA.
I sort by type(make) and colour , not by size. I only keep black and white t-shirts and only colours by special order. I find that customers will ask for colour first and then size. As I have all my black in one box I can get this box out and sort through til the customer finds the right size.

i find that size is the most important criteria, - then I get that box out, and let them fine a colour!

I am a workshop more that a shop. I am open to the public but most of my customer want larger orders. The one offs are few and far between and for this reason I only stock black or white t-shirts . If they want colours then I order them.
I dont want to spend my time faffing around looking for one t-shirt when I have bulk orders to do.

But if I was a shop like Logobear I think I would do it his way by sorting by size.
