I personally favour Gildan. Never had any issues with them, vinyl adhesion is good, they wash well and are available in bucket loads of colours across pretty much all the suppliers (in case one is out of stock)
One way to see is to check out stock levels of various makes on places like Ralawise. They will stock 1000s of a particular garment because its popular with printers and their customers. Other “lesser” makes will be minimal levels.

For the best combination of quality and cheap price then The Pro Rtx from Ralawise are hard to beat - nice quality, 60degree wash, 14 colours for less than £3.
If you can get a good price then the Ultimate Heavyweight UC004 ( not the UC003) from Btc is very good and well featured with raised collars and cuffs, vents etc. Bit more expensive than the ProRtx.
The Fruit of the Loom 65/35 polycotton offers good brand reassurance at mid price and is 60 degree wash. Not as good as the Ultimate or the ProRtx, IMO.
Best quality is the Russell 599m, if the customer wants to pay the extra.
The Absolute Apparel range has some good and bad, and too much choice. The AA12 is good. The only thing that worries me about 'own brand' from a smaller supplier is their ability to keep stock in all sizes, colours and styles.
I bought some samples of some of the Absolute range and did a wash test. When I get back to work on monday I will update the thread with my opinions of each by number.

Right , Monday morning....
The four Absolute Apparel styles I tried and wash tested ( 12 times at 40 degrees) were the AA12, AA11, AA101 and AA150 HydroFX ( 100% polyester).
AA12 - dearest at £3.14 and 240gm - washes well with little shrinkage or colour loss. Still looks smart. Similar spec and quality to the Ultimate UC004
AA101 cheap alternative to AA12 £2.30 200gm. Little bit of shrinkage and a small amount of colour loss. Looks 'lived in' after 12 washes. Good for price, but a budget option.
AA11 £2.60 190gm. Not much shrinkage but a small amount of colour loss. Less featured than AA101 but nicer fabric.
AA150 Hydro FX £1.99 200gm 100% poly. Used some this summer for my own workwear. Washes well without colour loss. Not much shrinkage. Good quality well featured product but fabric doesn't look as nice as other 100% polyester shirts ( If you can remeber 1970/80's's school uniform you'll know what I mean). Price drop suggests that it is not a success - it was £2.99.

As workwear is washed many times and sometimes at 60c I stick to Promodoro , Kariban or Sol´s.
I have used some of the others recommended on here but had problems with them. ( never tried Absolute Apparel) Its the 60c washing thats been the problem.
Price though could be a problem as they come out at around 6 to 8 Euros each. But they will last for years. I have repeat customers coming back after 5 years use of a polo and sometimes its only because the wearer has gotten fatter and needs a bigger size.

The biggest issue I find with work wear polos is the sizing. I remeber when the ucc stuff was massive for its size.
How does the absoutle stuff fair in sizing.
ive uses the Papini polos pervious, they are expensive but had good feedback with them

You are in Wolverhampton, Absolute Apparel are in Wolverhampton.
Pop round and check them out.
We use AA12's and love them.

UCC have re-launched their polos at proper sizing, so no more 'bingo wings'. I didn't use them because of the sizing issue.
The Absolute Apparel AA12 is virtually identical to the Ultimate UC004 to the extent that I would be tempted to say they came out of the same factory. Both are good quality workwear polos, so a lot will depend on the price you can negotiate.
