I am at my wits end with this!

I normally have a cup of tea with a few chocolate digestives when cutting my mug wraps but have noticed recently that chocolate marks from the wraps are transferring to my mugs when pressed. Paradoxically, this never happened when I used to eat ginger nuts.

I have tried everything: different inks, different paper, new ICC profiles, press times, temperatures and pressure changes, oven wraps, phone a friend, prayer, feng shui, ..... and nothing works.

Do you think I should contact McVities as they now seem to be at the root of the problem?

I realise that this may be an insoluble problem, even for the revered experts of the Dye Sublimation Forum, but would welcome any advice you could give me relating to this issue.

Try Cadburys. Maybe their chocolate is more heat resistant.
Were you facing north when you cut the wraps? Thats a known problem, never face north.

I think you may be eating the chocolate digestives upside down. They should be eaten chocolate side down. Eating the biscuits the correct way will not get those particular fingers chocolatey.

Doh!!! I was facing West! I wrap my mugs in front of my computer which faces West. Feng shui practitioners say we must always face East or North direction while studying, as they believe this would boost their energy, which is a key to success. Such a simple mistake! Thanks Earl.

Gary, taht's a great point. Being a Ginger Nuts man myself, and a self-confessed dunker, I have slipped into the bad habit of just grabbing the biscuit any old way and taking the shortest route twixt cup and mouth.

McVities have recently changed the formulation of their milk chocolate.
have you tried the dark chocolate ones?

I do believe you will find the ink is your problem, you need to use a different one. Cheap inks will let you down as their chocolate quotient is variable. Plus you are using the wrong printer, no profile, wrong temp, wrong paper, wrong graphics program and the room temperature is wrong. This can all be sorted with a Halogen wand grill oven cup cake press.

Do you have an ICC profile?
