Hi guys,
I have cleaned the heads a fair few times now over different days and still have the same problem.
I have an Epson 1500w using ink express and CISS. Every time I print a nozzle check, the exact same links are missing every time. One black link and one pink, as can be seen in the picture below.
My prints have banding on and I’m putting 2 and 2 together with this one. I’ve added a picture of one of my prints below.
Does anyone have any suggestions how I can put this right?
Many thanks
Mike

Occasionally happens with my 1500W. I do 3 cleans max, usually sorts it but if not I unplug and leave overnight. Don't keep head cleaning as it will do more damage than good. Which inks are you using?

Inktec Sublinova ink from ink express. I’ll give that a go thanks Justin and see what happens

I'm using the same. Only happens when the CIS carts are ready to be refilled......it does this automatically but then needs a couple of head cleans.

Personally I would not think that 1 nozzle will be the cause of the banding.
Perhaps try better resolution settings or a different paper as I would imagine that is more likely..

Better to get some Nozzle Rocket from Ink Expree than to keep doing head cleans. Works wonders.

Check that your CISS is filled up at least two thirds full. Mine goes daft when there's too much air in the tank.

Hi Mike, as Justin suggested try the usual head cleans, leave 15 minutes rest period between each clean, and only perform 3 cleans in a day. If you have no improvement leave to rest overnight. If the following morning the issue still persists it could need cleaning and / or a good service.
Can I ask-
1) How old is the printer / and CISS
2) Has this issue just occurred or has it been this way for some time
As someone else above said, usually 1 missing nozzle does not cause a major problem, but it can depend on the image you are printing. I find that if I do get a troublesome missing nozzle I can cheat the printer by changing the setting. In advanced settings you can untick High Speed. This turns off the bi-directional function of the printer head, it does slow the print speed of course but often resolves the very fine banding caused by a single missing nozzle.
Please feel free to contact me in the office and I can assist you with this issue.

Morning guys,
I followed Justin’s advice and tried it the next morning. Still the same old nozzle check pattern.
I tinkered with some of the settings and turned off high speed and changed it from photo to best photo and the image has come out so much better, as can be seen below
Would changing from photo to best photo make too much of a difference? As the print came out great but I haven’t pressed it and wasn’t planning to just yet.
Many thanks
Mike

Best photo will deliver more ink and I personally, would always uncheck high speed settings to get the best quality out of the printer.
