Hello, I've been searching for a mockup template (smart object Photoshop kind) for this small coffee cup with saucer. Most are just not the right shape, and the one I found that's quite close has the cup showing as a bit too high (deep) so I am worried it misrepresents the size to customers.

The cups/saucers I have are these ones:

https://signzworld.co.uk/shop/36-x-5oz-coffee-mug-saucer-and-spoon-ceramic-sublimation-mugs-for-heat-press/

  • Cup Handle Inner (Where finger fits): 1.6cm x 1.7cm

Can anyone assist in where I can find a mockup thats a good representation?

Many thanks :)

Have you asked signzworld if they can supply you one?

Yes, these are easy to make up yourself in Photoshop if you have a decent blamk image to start with.

I got this blank mug and saucer from Google Images (don't know if it's the same as the Signzworld one or not) and added a logo using a Smart Object layer and Warping it. You could easily make up a Photoshop Action to make changing images easy. I also made up my own background layer which you could change too.

Once you have a product mockup in Photoshop it opens up possibilities for trying all your new designs out very easily. Also, you can cheer the image up a bit. In this image I have changed the background and added coffee and a biscuit!

Gimp is indeed a great free option, but it is lacking in some major areas compared to Photoshop, such as the ability to use Smart Objects and Actions, both of which I rely on a lot. Maybe future versions will close the gap.

Also, I found the method of distorting the image in the above video relied on a bit too much trial and error and, without having Smart Objects, the warping would have to be repeated for every new image. With PS Smart Objects you simply warp the Smart object layer and thereafter any time the image is changed it warps automatically to fit the product.

yeah, I want to get Photoshop at some stage. I love some of the effects you can buy at graphicsriver but the cost of photoshop at the moment is too much.

Sadly so many programmes are now going over as services with monthly subscriptions rather than just selling the product.

I'll stick with Gimp and my 2004 edition of Fireworks until money flows freely. :)
