Hi Rav,

Where did you apply the grease? When I have grease the slider bar I only apply the grease to the very far left and right hand sides i.e. not down the length of the bar. The idea being is the copper washers on the carriage pick up a tiny amount of grease on each print pass.

If you have applied grease to the full bar degrease it with some wipes and complete clean it off and apply the grease at the ends. Move the carriage by hand left to right to get a small amount of grease on the carriage washer / bar.

The other thing to also check when the carriage is juddering is the sensor strip. This the clear plastic strip that runs just above the chrome slider bar. Ensure this is clean of ink and dust. The carriage has an LED sensor on the back that picks up on tiny markings on the sensor strip and locates the carriage on the print run.

In most cases its the sensor strip at fault rather than the slider bar. The sensor strip can be replaced fairly easily if needed.

Thanks Alex for the helpful info ..I have cleaned the sensor stripe few times as it was not working I thought slider might need greasing , carriage was getting stuck in the middle of printing and 2 orange lights was flashing ..So I had to re start the printed , This was happening few times ..But as you said carriage was juddering too...I have cleaned the sensor stripe with alcohol I wonder that erased the marking on the stripe ..Lol...BTW what grease did you use ???....

I would be looking at the sensor strip to be the issue here. The alcohol may well have started to remove the markings, I made the same mistake myself. I have a scrap 1500W carcass (full chassis, head, sensor strip, drive belt etc etc) if you want it for spares.

I used machine drill bit grease on mine.
