Re: Double Boxing Mugs

My new supplier sells mugs in thin white boxes, so I'm on the look out for a bigger mug mailing box to put them into. Any suggestions?

A4 jiffy bag. Just trialed 200 mugs for UK distribution, standard single wall cardboard box that the mug comes in, pop it in the A4 Jiffy bag. Out of 200 mugs 1 was broken and it was smashed into lots of bits and flat, so I guess it got run over!

mmm I don't think I'm that confident. Even my folded over double walled smash proof boxes are not 100% safe. Those mug returns are often heavily dented.

Never liked the boxes. Normally use polyboxes. I have to admit I am not sure if the 200 that have just gone out were pure luck, or whether it really works!

How about a plastic box full of jelly with the mug set in the middle?

I send my mugs out in the white gift boxes. I wrap them in bubblewrap and then put them into 5 inch cube brown mailing boxes and send them out.

I get less than 0.5% breakage so seems to work ok.

I'm trying to avoid plastic, being a friend of the earth and all that! But which 5 inch brown boxes are you using?

I get the recycled boxes from Globe Packaging https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-SI ... lysJgjs1Ww

and I get my biodegradable bubble wrap from Davpak at Amazon - https://amzn.to/2HlVPZ2

I tend to buy in small quantities so buying from marketplaces tend to have cheaper delivery costs than buying direct, plus living in a flat there's only so much I can store :)

I found these 6 inch boxes, 0.6p more expensive than the subliblanks box but extremely solid. So the double boxing should eliminate any breakages and I've cut out the plastic bag along with its irritating static adhesive cover which attach to my legs!!

Hi all, I used the standard white boxes wrapped in bubble wrap twice, then put into a grey post bag. I used to wrap them once, then at christmas one broke. (my first one to break in 2 years) now i wrap them twice in bubble wrap. I even post to Northen Ireland regualar.
