Ive just got the epson wf7110, has anyone used this or know if it is ok for dye sublination printing?

I think if you do a search of the forum you will find a lot of discussion from both sides.

If it helps we use an epson WF-2010 and where it works the colours are not very bright and the blacks are not black. In hindsight I would have paid more and got a sawgrass or ricoh which seem to be the printers of choice. This is just my understanding from what I have read on this forum.

Just looking at your original question and realise that the epson wf-7110 is an A3 but I am sure it would be OK with the right ink, again in hindsight I would look to get some decent ink like sublijet inks and chroma transfer papers which is recommended on the sawgrass site. I will however take advice from the more experienced members.

We started off with a budget set up and wish I had done my research first as we are having colour problems however we did just produce some nice mugs recentally.

If you look at the top of this page you will find a section that says 'Similar threads.' Have a look through those first.

For me, it's a printer I would recommend to a competitor or someone I hated!

I've had 3. One I returned for a replacement but eventually dumped that and another as well.

Not sure why the WF7110 gets so much hate, with the right inks and ICC profile they work brilliantly research is key with any printer.

Yes, they're great until they clog! Threads galore about that.

They aren't without their faults this is true, but again its down to the inks and also they PrecisionCore printing heads dont work well on refillable ink cartridges - I find they work much better on a CISS. I have never had a WF7110 block when using Inktec Sublinova inks. But each to their own, I was just surprised at the number of issues forum users have had with them.

So this is my story with sub dye printing so far...

i had a brother printer which was not transfering and the images just about got on to the fabric with a shocking faded look.

so i bought the epson 7110, another ciss as didnt want to be contaminated with the brother ink in any way. Bought the inktec sublinova inks but im still getting the faded results.

i have tested at different temperatures as well.

I have also tried to print on this flock paper as i want to print on dark garments once perfected.

since buying the epson i havent tested on white polyester, just the flock paper . But as im getting the same results again, i do t want to buy more tshirts that are going to waste.

i dont use any other programs or software for printing, just print via windows.
the picture also looks quite good on the transfer paper before trying the pressing, actually the image still remains a good quality after trying to press aswell.

Does anyone have any idea what im doing wrong/ whats going wrong?

1. Are you sure you are using sublimation inks?

2. Are you printing on the correct side of the paper?

3. Are you sure the t-shirts are 100% polyester and white, or a very light shade?

4. Are you pressing at the correct temperature for sublimation and are you sure your press is reading the correct temperature?
