HI Guys we are using OBA for few years and Royal mail tried to introduce the click and drop ..??I am still a bit confused about these 2 .What do you think ??Whats good and the advantages ??.Acording to the Royal mail guy on click and drop you get a FREE delivery confirmation even for large letters abd just cost you £1.08 and you can claim your VAT ....Is this true ??

C&D is essentially a nicer front end to OBA - the pricing is the same, everything you put through C&D feeds through to your OBA account.
Large letters and parcels sent through the CRL code (RM24/48) have a delivery confirmation barcode scan on them for free - they are not tracked though.
The C&D system also automates a lot of processes for platforms like Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, NOTHS, Magento, WooCommerce/WordPress, Shopify

Does the customer know what date an item is posted by checking barcodes on the label? Is it only delivery confirmation for us?

The barcode number can be entered by the customer in track and trace, but it only shows any result once the item has been delivered - it only confirms the delivery, not the despatch or journey yet - am sure they will add in more tracking in the future
If you integrate C&D with platforms, then when you despatch the item in the software it sends the tracking barcode number to the platform, so the customer gets the number and notification of despatch, so you don't have to juggle the platform website and click and drop

It is good, simple to use and quicker with integration.

Highly recommended.

I set it up a couple of months ago, but then couldn't find where RM were selling their thermal printer.

look on ebay for printers - there's usually a good supply of Zebra 4" printers on there (420 and 450) much cheaper used than new price, even with RM discount offer)
