Hi all.

We have just got into sublimation printing after a year or so personalising items with computer cut vinyl. The problem is blacks do not print good solid black and tend to be a greyish blue. The printer is an Epson WF2010 which came with a unbranded heat press and paper and inks. The only thing on the inks was "for use with EPN" not sure what that means" For the most part colours seem to print OK.

The whole deal came as a package from Amazon.

I think you are creating problems for yourself where there is no need.

Judging by your post you have gone for a cheap option which more often than not ends up in the bin. Like you say you have unbranded everything so there is no way to know where to start on what the exact problem is.

It is most likely to be the ink and printer profile causing most of the problem although your paper and possibly the blanks could also be an issue. Did you get and install a profile? Reputable suppliers of dye sublimation ink and printers will offer these as you must have them to get anywhere near to decent colours.

Given your current state and that you want to do it cheap I would recommend you give the guys at Ink Express a call (also tagged on this message). They will be able to sort you out with a decent reliable, stable set of inks together with a profile.

Once you have those (grab some of their paper as well) then you should see much better results. Trial and error on time and temp will be the only way to get perfect results and will vary depending on what blanks you are using.
