Last week we ordered a Clam Press from Adkins. Paid on the friday and arrived here, as they said, the next tuesday. A perfect little press for our new souvenir shop.

That's super to hear something positive. Good luck with your new shop.

Thanks. The new shop is just a small garage sized unit on a camping site. Its right on the way between the Daily campers and the big supermarket we have on the site. The longs term campers who either live there or camp only in the summer also pass by or see me when they eat or have a beer at the restaurant next door. Last weekend ( our second weekend open) we had two days of cold sun but still took a reasonable amount.
This is the second biggest campsite in Europe with 2,400 plots for long term campers or people like me with a Mobil home on the site. In a couple of week it will be Pfingsten weekend ( sorry, dont know the English word) and there will be around 6,000 campers on the site. Looking fowards to that one.

Seems like you've found yourself the perfect spot Earl.
We have a static caravan on the north east coast, north of Newcastle, and I'm busy making items for a regular local craft fair just a couple of hundred yards from our caravan.
It gets very busy over the summer months.

Hi Webtrekker, This is the Park. Cant wait for the world cup ( I dont know if you know but Germany play football and have a team in the world cup. Hoping to win for the 5th time).
In the big hall, which you can see on their website, around 4,000 people come and watch on a massive screen. The police are there along with a fire brigade wagon and an ambulance. On hell of an atmosphere.

I agree with the above about Adkins although I am not having much luck with mine at the moment....
Noticed the spring at the back was broken so decided to replace it.
That's when I noticed that the nut had severed so needed to sort that out first. Which is when I noticed that it had severed because there was a cir clip missing from the yoke pin and the inner pin had completely snapped. Ordered those and fitted them this morning only to find that the Solid Guide Post is not that solid and has indeed severed as well.
Decided I might be able to use it while I get the parts (it appears to have been like it for years) so put everything back together only to discover that there is now an electrical fault....
Hoping that will be the end of it...
Now off to call Signworld and get something cheap from them

I think thats a common fault with this press (Beta Maxi) . Mine broke a few times and had a devil of a time replacing it. Never had an electrical fault though.

Hi Social,
that little spring is THE MOST important part on the press, - and it is a 'consumable' - thou a pita to change!
Without it, the plate doesn't lie flat, and post, pins etc all wear unevenly or work loose.
All easy(ish) to change by self.
Don't forget high temp grease once a year too
