I purchased some "Elegant Bone China Mugs" from BMS. They all printed ok.

A couple of people have complained, when boiling water is poured into them they either crack, break or literally
explode.

I have tried calling BMS but there is no answer .

Has anyone else experienced this or have we done something wrong when sublimating them?

I have recalled and refunded the people who have purchased online but a bit worried about people who
purchased from a recent show.

As you can imagine it is a serious health and safety issue!

How did you cool the mugs after printing? Dunk or air?

They could of cracked during sublimation as we find this sometimes with bone china. The boiling water then gets into cracks and expands it. Just ensure you don't have too much pressure when pressing and lower to 170c if using Sawgrass ink. Justin is also right to ask how you cool but ONLY use air fan and not water with these.

Hi

Thank you. We air dried these, I will check how long we sublimated them for.

Mugs can often crack or explode if a hairline crack has appeared. Either it's a bad batch of mugs, they have been damaged during transit or too much pressure during the pressing.

Did you notice a 'ping' when pressing?

You might want to consider product liability insurance as a precaution.

Yes good call. You should ALWAYS get product liability if you're selling.

... even if you're not selling, and just giving them away
