Are there any decent print direct to mug processes? Obviously without spending an absolute fortune. I presently sublimating to mugs using an halogen oven, but the queries I’m getting at the moment will require printing an additional 30 and upwards mugs a day. Working a full time job and doing this in an evening, I’m looking at speeding up my processes.
Before rushing into leaving my job or buying new halogen ovens, presses or dedicated vacuum ovens I wondered if a print direct to mug option is available, or economically viable.
Any advice would be appreciate.

4 mugs presses, should see you printing 30 mugs in around an hour

Would it be better to save the money from buying 4 decent mug presses, and put it towards something else though? Trawling through online hasn’t shown anything regarding direct to mug printing apart from video links, with no links to products.

The only machines I have seen were UV printers which I would imagine would be very expensive. Also, I've never seen these machines doing anything other than a small, centred print, certainly not a full wrap, top-to-bottom, handle-to-handle. They seem very slow too.

Looks like a no go on a direct to mug process then. Thanks guys..

Mugs presses are so cheap though

There are direct to mug printer options out there, but they are slow and some are not even dishwasher safe.

4 mug presses will get you 30 mugs an hour, but I personally would recommend a bigger oven that can hold and print 24 mugs in 18 minutes. You can get closer to the handle and a top to bottom print without the worry of the blanket eventually failing.

Trust me, its a darn site easier than presses, plus it's quicker and on bulk runs cheaper.

I run the blizzard convection oven, I know someone on here that purchased that same oven about a month ago and can't believe how good the results are.

Oven is £297 + VAT
72 mug wraps £216 (ebay approx)
Four Mugs presses are £199 +VAT each (approx)

So mug presses would be £300.00 more

Mug wraps should last 500+ prints, some even more depending on what you print. There are some tips to using an oven which I will share with you if you go this route.

i think single mug presses are the easier scalable option.
A single person can run upto about 5 - and i would have thought upto 60mugs per hour (maybe 50)
With multiple single clamp presses you have built in redindancy if an element goes.
An oven works in batches, a few presses is more linear....

The oven route is the way I’d started to think was going to be the best option.
I’ve had good results with my halogen oven, much better than the mug press.
And already have a few mug wraps, and these aren’t too expensive.
I’ll check out the blizzard convection oven.
