Re: Removing unwated specs/marks on garments

I seem to have acquired the knack of making little black dots or marks on the clean area of a garment (T shirt) when i sub print, sometimes.

This afternoon for instance, 2 out of 6 tees that I printed had a black mark on. One was a black dot, the other a black line. I am careful to make sure that all surfaces are clean & clear of marks, dye spots etc. I use a Teflon sheet, and make sure that is clean too.

My question is, is there a successful way to remove an unwanted spot? a solution or method of removing or hiding the mark? These marks, when they occur, are blighting an otherwise successfully sublimated garment. I am using AWDIS Cool Pro tees, so they are not the cheapest to write off when it comes to wastage.

TIA.

you can get a high pressure gun and solvent that removes just about anything ... costs about a hundred quid but its a get out of prison card!

Are you sure these marks aren't on the print? Perhaps the edge of the paper catching?

dust in the air can be an issue (dust with sub ink in it), more so in hot weather (or if studio hot) as the dust floats around more.
We've had this problem, and we now get around it with lint remover tape to get anything off the surface to be printed.
