Hi folks just a quickie,

when printing coasters, is it normal for the coaster to turn a little off white after pressing, i'm getting a very slight brownish tinge to the remainder of the coaster (where there is no image or print)

Im pre heating for about 10 seconds and pressing at 190c, the coaster is in the press for around 2 minutes due to heat loss and when press hits temp it will press for 60 seconds, i'm thinking I should just press straight away and ignore the drop in temp as i think I may be overcooking slightly, the image i printed was black and did not turn brown though so little confused, its just the white of the coaster where i'm getting the tinge of brown??

Are you covering the whole of the coaster with paper firstly? Any areas not covered could burn. If you are then you are no doubt pressing for too long or your press is getting hotter than 190. We use BMS coasters and they press perfectly at 190c and 75s.

Don't account for the heat loss - bang them in the press for 190c for 60 - 75 secs, don't worry about temp dropping. I never pre heat either!
