Hi
I have purchased some glass coasters from bms and struggling to get a decent print.
I am currently pressing at 190 degrees for 150 seconds but the middle of the coaster is slighlty cloudy and generally the colours are all a bit dull. (I also tried 120 seconds at 200 degrees)
Do you have any idea on how I get print these better, I also tried printing them on my 'back-up press' but had the same issue
Thanks

Do you do any other sublimated items, and do they turn out ok? This may be a silly question, but are you sure your press is set to Celsius and not Fahrenheit?

Everything else I have printed works fine, t-shirts, metals, hardboard coasters and jigsaws.
I have even tried turning the coasters half way round to see if that helps

We do glass coasters at 190c 210s and of course paper face up with glass coaster on top.

sounds like the coaster isn't completely flat if the middle is getting cloudy - i'd get a 1.5mm-2mm thick silicone mat to help - works much better than a teflon sheet. just need to add 45-60seconds to the heating time.

Glass is notoriously tricky to print, I gave up on the small items I was doing as I simply wasn't happy with the quality. If I remember correctly, I used a silicone pad and preheated the panels first, similar to slate/acrylic.
I'd check with your supplier though.

I print glass coasters one at a time because I often get failures.
Heat press up to 200 degrees C and print for 4 minutes.
Teflon baking sheet to protect platen
plain paper
glass coaster (printing side up)
plain paper
thin blue silicone sheet
teflon baking sheet.
