Hi all.
So I did my first mug this weekend and I am not pleased with the result. Dark areas on the image came out very dark on the mug. I am using a epson 1500w with ciss from cityinkexpress, as well as a profile provided by them. I had to use their brand sub paper as well, as they didn't provide a profile for Jetstream paper which I also have. I am pressing with the double mug press from freesub. Did a couple of tests with different times/temperature. Result were slightly better with less time, a total of 200 seconds including the time from idle temp to 180 degrees. I'll add a couple of images with some details outlined to see if anyone have any suggestions. As you can see prior to printing the areas are dark but still alot of details, on the mug those details are just dark.

One more thing. Cityinkexpress provided ICC profiles for epson 1500w and the following papers:
Anne Paper
Cityinkexpress paper
Dino Dyesub Paper
Monarch Paper
Signzworld Paper
SubliPlus Paper
SubliSharp Paper
Subright Paper
TruePix Paper
XPres Paper
I currently only have Jetstream and the paper from cityinkexpress, which by the look and feel of the paper seem like a poor quality compared to Jetstream. As Jetstream is not on this list, can I choose one of the other papers? Is anyone of them close to jetstream?

I've got a Ricoh SG3110DN setup, using CIE inks, Anne paper, and a profile to suit and have absolutely no complaints about quality of print. You don't say what mugs you are using. In my experience, mug coatings are the number one culprit regarding poor prints, not the ink or paper. I started with mugs from ebay and, although they seemed to print ok, every one I've made for home use has faded badly in the dishwasher. The 10oz Listawood mugs I now use haven't faded in the slightest after many washes.

Thanks webtrekker!
I am using 10oz mugs from Coralgraph. Any experience with them?
I have talked to Listawood, but the shipping to Norway came out a little higher them some others. How does people like the 10oz Durham and Sparta mugs from:
printerowners.co.uk
coralgraph.com
longforte.com
These are the suppliers who comes best out of it in regards to shipping. I feel £1.5 is the highest i want to pay pr. mug when shipping is included.
I consider just getting the ricoh with sublisplash, but the price is so much lower pr print with bulk ink.

Webtrekker,
Is the ink you get from CIE the FotoRite brand?

Not wanting to sound rude but have a search through the site and you may find your answer. I don't think many people on this site may be using them anymore

Yes, it is. Not sure what brand they're selling now though. If I had to switch, I think I'd give Inktec inks a go.

Thanks webtrekker!
I think I might just go with the Ricoh and sublisplash, but it's really annoying that I can't get this Epson 1500w + CIE inks to work at all for me! On paper the colors are very "grainy", and they still are when i print them on my mugs. Should I not be able to get 100% solid colors and sharper text/photo with this setup? The color profile seem okay though, but it's the unsharp and grainy result that really brings me down.
