Hi everyone,

I mentioned to someone that I might look into wide format printing in the future. He said he knew somebody selling a Epson Stylus Pro 4900. Next thing I knew, they were at my door with the printer and felt pushed into buying it. I like to do a lot of research before I buy anything and I couldn't with this. I haven't got any room for the printer so I had to get a storage locker for it. I've had it for 5 months and haven't had time to look into it. I've never even switched it on or know how to use it. I'm moving house and I need the storage locker for other things. All I know is that there is a crack in the clear part of the top and two small rollers have broken. I wasn't given any additional cables. Any ideas how can I sell it when I don't know anything about it or what it's worth.

You'll get pennies for it if the buyer can't see it working, I would have given the guy at the door a firm no unless I had a full demo of it working, but hey we've all been caught at some point

I've got no idea. It went straight into the storage locker. Apparently it was used for proofs before sending to another firm to print them. There's no access to any power sockets at the storage locker

I use one of these on a daily basis and it is an excellent printer. I would be concerned about the damage especially the paper rollers as it seems to have been badly treated. Non functional machines go for £50-£200 on eBay but you would rely on collection, worth a try. There may be some value in the cartridges, just weighed a full one at 320gm. Carts hold 220ml so say 200gm usable ink. If the carts are still in date then try eBay. Replace carts after weighing.
