Hi ....Any tips on how to avoid this?....
I've cut out my shapes of transfer sublimation paper, pressed them at about 180degrees. My thermometer is detecting the heat press is hotter than this (about 210C).
I'm getting undesired discolouration around paper/transfer edge and indentation from said cutout edge of transfer paper which is now burnt into the poly T, and unable to be ironed out.

As u can probably tell I'm new to this. Any tips before I ruin any more of my blank supplies? (Gildan)

glad I got a thermometer laser gun, 160 on heat press display is actually 120 according to the gun.

tear around the image so you get a soft raggy edge, reduce pressure, only needs to be light.

You cannot trust heat temp on a cheap press, but nor can you trust the heat gun ....

I'm having a go at printing in different parts of the shirt.
Any tips on how to avoid creases in other parts of the shirt?
(e.g. perhaps place bits of cloth around the parts of the T that can't be flattened?)

These hard creases are unfortunately never coming out - the poly must be melted. My iron is having no effect (on medium heat).

thread the shirt over the platten so only pressing single layer
if pressing double, you can also get bleed through!

my platen is A3.
maybe I should I get a sublimation tile to put inside/in-between the T?

...oh, I could get a Teflon Pillow - that will stop indentations won't it. Should I get an large one to cover the the whole A3 press bed?

Talking of Teflon; my A3+ teflon protector sheet seems to be adding little blue stain dots here and there on my otherwise pristine white T . Any tips on how to clean teflon?

The little blue dots you talk of will probably be specs of dust, lint, etc. Get yourself a lint roller and lint roller your garment before pressing. It’s a right pain in the backside isn’t it!

You can also use a screwed up piece of paper to remove press marks.

Get an A4 sheet, screw it up and when the press is finished, remove sublimation sheet and rub around the edges (where the press mark is) with the screwed up piece of paper. They will disappear in front of your very eyes
