Re: single presses or multi-presses for pressing 300 mugs?

We will soon need to regularly press 2-300 mugs /week and would like to clear it all using one person in a single day. Do you think I'd be better off getting a few single mug presses eg more of the BMS ones I already have, a double head press or a 5 head press?

TIA

Two or three single presses for sure. Get higher end mug presses which are more resiliant, longer lasting wraps and more solid construction. We have five Adkins studio mug presses and swear by them. Normally when we drop a mug :-)

Thanks, that's what I was thinking too. I quite fancy the adkins but they are pricey. I've always used a BMS one which has been great so far so might go for a couple more of them. Just worried that three different timers going off at once might get confusing (to me anyway!)

Don't get me wrong the BMS press is very good (be wary others of cheaper imitations) and we have two that we use purely for shot glasses and bone china mugs. But as a work horse then we find them too weak in structure whereas Adkins (Galaxy Pro?) are solid and can take opening/closing one after the other as well as element giving equal temp distribution time after time. Second hand is the way to go of course.

A 5 head press with the same buzzer going off at different times is probably worse:tongue: Bit like spinning plates!

My Adkins twin is a super press. You wont be sorry you bought it.

I'm so happy with my twin adkins, I bought another one! We can easily fire through 300 mugs in a day - single operator with breaks for packing up and clearing space etc. I do have a weird issue that every now and again (maybe 5 mugs out of 300) we get a random duff mug that is overcooked and you can see the burn marks on the paper where the element has overheated.

You cannot go wrong with Adkins, you really do get what you pay for with everything in the printing game.

What settings are you using with your mugs?
