We primarily use dyesub for trophy plates, cutting metal sheet down to size, producing artwork, laying up and taping to transfer, removing from paper, attaching double sided tape, trimming and finally sticking on the host item!
Each job of around 20-30 pieces takes a while to do and we're currently trying to work out a more efficient and speedy way to do. All suggestions welcomed but I got to wondering if a machine/printer/press exists to carry out this arduous task as we are prime candidates for repetitive strain injury as we get busier!

Hi Warrior
Sublimetals have ready-cut trophy shapes. Would they fit your items?

Sublimetals also do custom cutting if required. Ask them for a quote, it may save you a lot of time on the cutting process.

The other thing to consider is laying the up on an A4 sheet and then printing however many you can get on 1 sheet. Use some of the spray glue to keep them in place would probably save a few minutes.
Failing that, just put your price up to allow for the additional time

Thankyou all for your speedy replies....
We invested in one of the A3+ sized bench top guillotines and cut 'to order' from A3+ sized sheets. This allows us to remove the protective plastic in one piece prior to cutting rather than individually from ready cut one's that we've bought in. It's probably the speediest part of the process and presents decent cost savings but we do also buy in rounded corner plates, special shapes and of course full sheets.
Yesterday I tried to layout a complete A4 sheet of trophy plate text in Corel Draw the idea being to print as one, stick a sheet of double sided on the back and then to cut down from there. The theory works but in practice the artwork takes an age as you have to remove the borders doesn't always print centre page and we've not yet got any sheets of double sided.

Thanks for the offer Calvin but...
We and our customers like sublimation. Easier to read, logo's can be included etc.,
There's also the practicality and timescale of ordering in. My colleague is away this week, we've been telling customers that short notice orders will be difficult for us to turn around and yes you guessed it, i've just taken an order for 25 pieces needed for this Friday in Ireland! Lol
I need a machine
