Hi Guys,

I was hoping someone may have come across this issue before me and knew of a way to get rid!

My press settings seem to be good at 190/60 secs with light pressure and they still appear even if I lighten my pressure/heat/time to the point that the inks don't sublimate properly.

The paper never sticks to the metal when coming out the press so not a paper sticking problem, it just seems to leave these horrible marks that I can't even rub off :/ paper is Trupix.

I've heard of moisture being a problem with metals?

Lower time and temp a little. 185 for 50secs and keep testing. If it is Ricoh printer then lower still on temp. You can actually go firm on pressure if preferred. Different batches of standard metal need adjusting to with the above as coating has varied melting points.

Moisture would only ever be something to do with paper and not metal although have seen it mentioned on here.

I had problems with 'marbling' on 0.5mm aluminium sheet. Tried all settings of temp and time but eventually found out that the pressure has to be VERY light, almost to the point where you just lay the top platen on the job without clamping.

I lay my metal sheet on the print (upside down) and press through the aluminium, with only a sheet of A4 copy paper over the lot.

@Andrew - Thanks, I may try just dropping the temp/time little bit at a time but more pressure.

@webtrekker - Interesting. I've never actually covered the metal with anything before pressing. Just sheet of paper, then printed paper, then metal and thats it. I will give this a try with the VERY light pressure suggestion, thanks
