Anybody ever printed onto lycra, I had a call today from a customer wanting to see if he could get 3 images printed onto cyclng shorts, not sure if I can do this using standard transfer paper?

Yes, you can print on lycra material using screen printing method.

I have subbed onto cycling vests before, but they were light coloured, it was for a charity ride.

There are printable vinyls available specifically for lycra - they need to stretch with the fabric
