What does it mean ?

1. Turn the printer off.
· The right front door must be open before you switch the machine on.
· With the right front door open, the printer will not perform auto maintenance (this can waste ink).
2. Switch the machine on.
3. Enter the SP mode.
Press the up key and hold and then immediately the down key and hold them both down simultaneously for 7 seconds), then press the # Key.

Hi,
Thanks, I have also found this on internet.
It doesn't work tho'. It doesn't matter how long or short I hold both keys in, the error just keeps flashing.
Have you any more advice ?

The Ricoh with this error can be a pain and you just have to keep trying to get into the Engine Maintenance menu. Normally if you do it as soon as you get the error it is better than waiting a while.Hi David

With regards to why you get this error, it is most likely because you are using dodgy ink or have let the refillable carts run empty. I say this because I run a couple of these machines, one with Sawgrass genuine inks and the other with any rubbish I can lay my hands on. The one with Sawgrass ink has never had an issue. The one with any old rubbish has the above problem regularly.
While that is not really an issue for me, you do need to be aware that each time you reset the machine you empty and reload the ink. This wastes a lot of ink and also fills your waste ink cartridge quickly which means it will need replacing.
If you are using Sawgrass inks they will take a look at the machine for you and could possibly offer you a replacement. If you are using cheap crappy ink then you get what you pay for (regardless of what claims are made by the suppliers).

We checked ours when it stated that it was full - there was barely anything in it. Reset the printer and all was good...

Nope, I have done itIt's not unknown for waste tank ink to be recycled......or is that just me?
I do that all the time, but the code mentioned is not for the waste ink tank, its to do with the print head and is caused by using crap ink (that is how I know how to reset itWe checked ours when it stated that it was full - there was barely anything in it. Reset the printer and all was good...
