Hey everyone, i'm Chris, new to the forum and pretty new to all this.

Hobbyist at the moment, but hoping to earn something from it in the future if i can get good, consistant results. It's been a pretty steep learning curve so far, learning as i go how to use different design software and set-up my vinyl cutter and press, thank god for youtube ha ha but i've made a couple of t-shirts for myself and a couple of small runs for businesses run by friends/family which seem to be lasting ok so i'm pleased with that.

Using the design software has got me interested in making my own, more intricate, designs so i've just got my sublimation printer set up. First test didn't go particularly well, but it's a process, i'm sure with more reading and practice it will come lol

I also love the idea of screen printing, but i don't know if i have the space for it at home, i've already filled a bedroom with my current equipment, maybe if i can convince the missus we need a nice big shed i'll get round to it lol

Current equipment/software i'm using:

ROHS 721 Vinyl cutter
RICOH AficioSG2100N
Random Chinese ink that came with the printer lol
UK Press HP3805B

Inkscape
SignBlazer elements

Anyway, essay over, hopefully get to know you all a bit and maybe even one day be experienced enough to help out with some advice lol

Chris

Evening Chris,

I'm new to this too; I'm looking to print mugs. It certainly is a learning curve! But if you ever have a problem people on the forum are always happy to offer advice, and it's great talking to other people who are doing the same thing .

Sarah.

Welcome to the forum Chris! I added screen printing to my business a while ago. My advice, unless you have a lot of experience just contract it out :-)

Hi Sarah, thanks for the welcome! Glad to know the forum has plenty of helpful people :) i've not looked at doing mugs (due to me not drinking tea or coffee and what could possibly be described as a t-shirt addiction lol) how are you getting on with it so far?

Hi Justin, thanks for your welcome too! Thanks for the advice, is it a lot of work? Difficult to do? Or just not much of a return unless large runs?

Hi again apexhitter,

Actually, I don't drink tea or coffee either, lol. But most people do, and mugs are a good product to sublimate onto.

Getting on well with it so far, it's a learning-curve!.
