Hi
we are looking to buy a new Sawgrass Virtuoso 800 Printer and running Sublijet HD Inks with Trupix Paper, We will be mainly printing on to Glass, Ceramic Tiles and Aluminium Products just looking for any comments from anyone that is using either the Printer / HD Inks or both before we part with the hard earned cash.
Thanks for reading and look forward to seeing any comments
John

As there is a big price difference between the A3 and A4 printer, the question to ask is are you going to print on substrates greater than A4? I don't know of many glass or ceramic products that are bigger than A4 unless you're printing mosaics.
The printer is a proven reliable machine.

We have an A4 Ricoh but some of the glass cutting boards and photo panels are larger than A4 print area, hence upgrading to the 800.

Interesting point, however I was under the impression that Sawgrass had developed Sublijet HD inks for the Virtuoso which gives a higher Colour Gamut (25%) which Is why we are looking to buy one next week, If this is the case then it will produce better images. We work with fine art images so it would seem a no brainer to me......
I've never been an Epson fan as always used Canon and HP and for our Fine Art Giclee work we find the canon tends to use a lot less ink than the Epson however I digress.....
So my Question is
'Are the HD inks better than the Sublijet R ??? if so I'll spend the extra and if not I will happily buy the Ricoh and save some cash....
Would appreciate anyones opinion on the above, thanks
John

Canon uses less ink as they try and get you to use thier papers which are very cheap ocd papers hence all profiles are custom. If you use epson paper youd use less also. Profile the epson for less ink usage and higher quality. Im a epson engineer and was a hp and canon one in a previous life.

Hi Mags1892
Just checking out the 1500W on the net now and see that it is 6 colour and Sublijet inks are available in both carts and ciss. is this what you use and if so do you get photo quality on glass and ceramics?
Cheers
John
