DSF

Hi there I have not done any mugs for ages but have been sublimating onto fabric loads without any problems. I have the Red 3D sublimation machine and a ricoh 3110 printer with sawgrass paper. The mugs came with the machine so am not sure of brand. I cooked them for 360 seconds at 190 degrees. When they came out of the oven I dunked them in luke warm water to cool them down a bit and half the ink came off in the water! The mugs are a dark blue with a white patch on for the image. I was really disappointed with the results. I did do a search for the problem on the forum but with no luck
I do not remember having any of these problems before but its been a couple of years - any clues? Thank you

Hi I don't think it's a good idea to put mugs in Warter and that could crack the mug .....if don't do mugs but I think it's 190c for 15 -20 mins ..

Lots of us dunk mugs..... several threads on here relate to dunking. I'd much rather an iffy mug cracked when I dunk it rather than breaking in the post or even worse in a customer's hand.

Are you sure they are sublimation mugs rather than laser mugs.

You need twice as long time as a starting point if it is 1 mug. Some ovens need longer so 15mins is not a bad starting point. You then tweak from there depending on the print. More or less heat on the combination of time and temp.
