Hi guys,

I have put up a couple of blinds in our shop and I had the idea to put a message accross them when the blinds were down (and the shop is closed).

They are the black out material kind of blind.

Anyway, I had a quick experiement with sign vinyl and it didn't stick well enough to roll up so I thought the best option would be garment vinyl.

BUT, just a thought ................... these blinds (2 of them) are six foot wide and 4 foot long so I was hoping to avoid putting them under the heat press and use an iron ................ would it work?

I'm asking now as I don't have the heat press to use at the moment, but can borrow an iron from a shop next door!

Many thanks guys

Adam

think the idea is possible for a one-off, as long as material of the blind doesn't melt before the flock's pressing temperature, will definitely need experimenting with the timing.

would be handy with one of those IR thermometer to set the correct temperature.

Many thanks Patrick.

I think the back of the blind feels like a 'sponge' like material ................. looks like I'll be avoiding heat in whatever method I choose!

Thanks for the reply mate - appreciated :-)

spray can and a stencil - cut out with your sign vinyl would do it, or a sponge and paint, the vinyl will stick well enough to paint over/around then dry and peel

Great minds think alike 'Mrs M' !

I have a bit of blind outside with two 'tests' that I did earlier, the first with spray and the second with paint - i'll see how they look in a second but it looks like the paint wins by a whisker!

In the end I cut out the letters but pulled them off so I had a pre-cut stencil to use for the paint.

:-)
