Just had an email in (like most of you I'm sure) from BestSub about a gold and silver transfer laser paper. This isn't a process we understand so could someone quickly explain the process of getting a print using a paper like this onto a mug please?

Kind regards, Olly.

I think that's the stuff that sticks to toner.... so you print the mug with something like CPM or T.ONE ? - and then re wrap the mug with the foil to get it to stick to the toner print already on the mug.... my guess!

Quick search turns up this

It looks similar to Logobear's suggestion (and similar to how a foil-it machine works from what i can tell), it certainly is using laser toner to specify the design, how this works with a sublimation mug i dont understand.

I don't get you? It just says multi transfer paper?
my comment regarding a sublimation mug is an assumption that it somehow adheres to the poly coating, does toner react to poly?
The website implies any laser printer can be used and the paper printed on not the mug, so something must make it adhere to a mug?
only guessing they list bms and longforte as distributors maybe one of them can shed some light?

Getting more excited about this paper and the range of new gifts we could offer. It looks like as mentioned above that you simply use laser printer to print design then use heat press to transfer onto any surface such as glass, ceramic or wood! And you don't use sublimation mugs. I guess the following product is similar

I think the difference is that the yolo is a transfer that has to be cut out and fixed to the mug. The transfer paper will produce artwork that sticks wherever toner has been applied and looks like it is actually printed on the mug, no weeding or transfer paper outline. The OKI white laser + CPM paper produces the same effect but is multi coloured.
